HAF’s\u00a0October 15th\u00a0NYC art exhibit, sale, and silent auction<\/a>\u00a0will feature five different signed and\u00a0matted prints from\u00a0The Butter Man<\/a>\u00a0book, by the illustrator Julie Klear Essakalli.<\/p>\n Inspired by the beauty and rawness of many Atlas Mountain trips,\u00a0Julie based her illustrations on a remote Berber village she discovered in 2004. Zig Zaoun is a perfectly nestled, magical, untouched farming village, dating back to several centuries with an elevation of around 2,000 meters. This picturesque village provided\u00a0for the perfect backdrop for Ali’s surroundings in the story.<\/p>\n Julie – \u00a0born in Germany, raised in the USA, resident of Marrakech, Morocco – \u00a0is a studio artist, art teacher, children’s book illustrator, mother of\u00a0two, and the co-founder & creative director of the award-winning company,\u00a0Zid Zid Kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n The authors of\u00a0The Butter Man<\/a>, Elizabeth Letts Alalou and Ali Alalou, will be signing copies of thiis children’s book at the event.<\/em><\/p>\n
