{"id":2243,"date":"2018-04-12T11:16:03","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T09:16:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/didouqen.com\/?p=2243"},"modified":"2018-04-12T11:16:03","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T09:16:03","slug":"ramadan-2010-eat-drink-share-ftoor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress-haf.ddev.site\/ramadan-2010-eat-drink-share-ftoor\/","title":{"rendered":"RAMADAN 2010 EAT DRINK SHARE FTOOR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eighteen people attended our first Eat.Drink.Share event in DC, Sunday evening, August 22 nd at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marrakeshpalace.com\/\">Marrakesh Palace Restaurant\u00a0<\/a>to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and share a traditional Moroccan ftoor among friends.\u00a0 In keeping with the Ramadan spirit of giving, $210 in donations were collected.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>&#8220;$1 &#8211; 1 Fruit Tree Sapling&#8221;<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 All proceeds will go to fund our campaign to plant 200,000 fruit trees and saplings in five provinces of Morocco, benefitting approximately 25,000 people in 2011.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theme of the evening centered on expanding the HAF&#8217;s youth outreach program.\u00a0 The HAF\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/highatlasfoundation.org\/about\/get-involved\/teacher-toolkit\">teacher toolkit\u00a0<\/a>was launched in March 2009\u00a0to engage our youth in the U.S. and eventually abroad to feel empowered to make positive change in the world around them.\u00a0 You can read more about our first two events in &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/highatlasfoundation.org\/content\/a-penny-can-make-a-difference\">a penny can make a difference<\/a>&#8221; and\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/highatlasfoundation.org\/content\/teacher-toolkit-take-2\">teacher toolkit take 2<\/a>&#8220;. The HAF youth program is a wonderful companion to any school aged Earth Day event.\u00a0 We are looking to partner with\u00a0schools for Earth Day 2011.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the evening&#8217;s creativity spurred plans to sponsor a youth &#8220;Earth Day 2k Fun Run&#8221; to be held in Washington, DC April 2011.\u00a0 Please contact board member, Tina Khartami at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:%3Cspan%20id=\">This email address is being protected from spambots.
