This situation reduces morale and attendance, and creates a negative association for children with their places of learning, especially for girls.<\/p>\n Building school toilets, especially gender-segregated toilets, has a profound impact on school attendance. In a study conducted by HAF in Tassa Ouirgane, the installation of a system for clean water and toilets in schools increased girls enrollment by 16% in less than one year.<\/p>\n
