On Friday, June 13, 2014, Lamia Bazir, representative of the High Atlas Foundation at the United\u00a0Nations, was invited by UN Secretary General Envoy on Youth, Ahmed El Handaoui, to meet\u00a0the new generation of youth leaders at the UNICEF Headquarters in New York.\u00a0This meeting was the occasion for the young participants to share their plan of action to\u00a0achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the post-2015 Agenda. The proposed document\u00a0emphasized sustainability, rule of law, and peace as key conditions to development. Indeed,\u00a0the students came from all around the globe to share their vision of development and conceive an\u00a0integrated plan to face global challenges.<\/p>\n
This conference asserted the power and impact of youth in human development, which is at the core\u00a0of the High Atlas Foundation’s mission in Morocco. It was held as part of the UN Student Leadership\u00a0Conference on Development, in partnership between UNICEF Voices of Youth Connect,\u00a0Fundacion Cultural Baur, and Global Education Motivators (GEM).<\/p>\n
