I wonder if we can measure, using a scientific, quantitative methodology, whether, in fact, giving is actually getting. The overwhelming evidence in my life, based on my experiences, based on so many voices I’ve heard, based on ancient and contemporary writing, within poetry, as part of rigorous analysis, from all parts of the world, drawn from different times, all point to this self-evident truth: that giving begets. The more we love, the more we part with our material fortunes, no matter their size, the more, somehow, we and our families, communities, and those most close to us receive.

For many of us, however, getting may not be a motivation at all to give. When giving to the High Atlas Foundation – which is giving to the Moroccan experience of shared human development and people’s empowerment, and overcoming barriers to hopes and dreams – the HAF and its partners can cross the cusp to fulfilling Morocco’s greatest possibility, ending rural poverty and creating an example for the world.

We believe that.

We also believe, based on the overwhelming experience provided by time, that giving now, we’ll give more to ourselves while giving to the cause of peace through people’s fulfillment.

And what better time than Giving Tuesday to give and get, so that we can give again and create a circular flow that will launch humanity to sustainable living?
