Bruno Mejean

Bruno Mejean is the Founder and Managing Partner of BJM International, Inc. a New York-based international financial advisory company with over 20 finance and business development professionals located primarily in the US but also Morocco where the company maintains a representative office for its African business. The company focuses on arranging project financing for international developers in emerging markets. Recently, Bruno Mejean was Executive Vice President of Structured Finance at Renewable Energy Trust Capital. In this capacity, he was responsible for structuring project financing for RETC  projects.  Previously, Mr. Mejean was Managing Director for International Project Finance and Business Development at SunEdison.  He was responsible for raising debt and equity for SunEdison projects outside North America. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and Deputy General Manager at Nord/LB NY Branch, responsible for Corporate, Project, Export and Trade Finance Origination activities in the Americas. Nord/LB specialized in the financing of renewable energy projects having supported over 10GW of renewable power projects since 2000 in North America alone. Prior to 1999, Mr. Mejean was Director of Project Finance & Development at Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, responsible for arranging debt and equity financings for Hydrocarbon, Power, and Infrastructure projects. Before joining Raytheon, Mr. Mejean spent 20 years with various financial institutions, specializing in international finance. At SG, he was First VP and Manager of the US Export Finance Group financing over 50 transactions in 20 countries (from Algeria to Zimbabwe) totaling over $ 2 billion with the support of the US Export-Import Bank (US Eximbank) or the US Department of Agriculture Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC). The NY Branch became one of the top 5 users of US Eximbank programs during his tenure.  At Bank of New York, he was responsible for a team of structured trade and export finance specialists supporting the corporate and the international banking departments, with the support of US Exim and CCC but also the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), now the US Development Finance Corporation (DFC).  At Chase where he spent 10 years, Mr. Mejean’s team was responsible for all the Bank’s dealings with US Eximbank and OPIC globally and was the Bank’s global relationship manager with these two US agencies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mejean was based in Tunis, responsible for Chase’s Trade finance activities in North Africa. Mr. Mejean received his MBA in finance from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University’s School of Business Administration. Mr. Mejean is a Board member of the High Atlas Foundation and COCHEPA, a Casablanca-based private company involved in industrial packaging. Mr. Mejean was born and raised in Morocco and speaks French and English fluently.
