Saffron Season in the Ourika Valley

November 19, 2015

The saffron season is almost over – but we were just in time to visit a beautiful Saffron Garden in Ourika Valley and talk to Miloud, who has been working with the “red gold” for over 14 years. “When I close my eyes, I see Saffron,” Miloud confessed. With passion, he showed us around and explained how the process works.

We even got the chance to pick some saffron ourselves. It’s amazing how delicate and precious these beautiful purple flowers are. Since words can’t do the beauty of these little purple flowers justice – we hope these photos will.
