Nexus water, energy, and food is vital for human well-being, poverty reduction, and sustainable development. This relationship is the frailest in the MENA region. Resources of water are depleting rapidly, resources of energy are limited for many countries, the production of food is in decline, with several countries importing the majority of their primary food staples. The most disturbing fact is that unstable water supplies generate social, and hence political, instability.
