Dear Friend,
Between now and the last day of March, we have just 48 days to plant trees that will bear fruit and sustainable livelihoods for generations. When we think of that young child, 50 or 100 years from now, eating a walnut that came from the work of our hands today, how can we let this moment pass without clutching a sapling and a shovel?
The High Atlas Foundation is calling out to all who may hear this message, wherever they may be, to give today, so that we can plant and harvest for the future we want to create.
The articles in this Newsletter share stories of planting in majestic Morocco. We have the massive potential to plant more than 10 million seeds in nursery lands lent without cost to HAF and its community partners. Will we make inroads into the many millions of trees that can now be placed into the ground?
We are thrilled with planting contributions of any size. For the average price of 70 cents, we can plant a seed, maintain it for two years by the local beneficiaries, and transfer it to the agricultural fields and school yards, where its growth will be monitored for its first five years of life. Forty-eight days remain, and none are better than today for giving.
Enjoy the Newsletter and happy planting to all, wherever you may be.
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Yossef Ben-Meir
President
